DIY: Christmas Footprint Reindeer

Want something cute to give to your family from the little one this Christmas? Well these footprint reindeer will make perfect gifts as well as timeless keepsakes.

Materials Needed:

White canvas board or white paper

Sponge brush

Paint brush

Brown, black, white, and red acrylic pant

Brown marker

Step 1:

Using a sponge brush paint your little ones foot with brown acrylic paint and completely press their foot against the canvas board. Don’t worry if the footprint doesn’t completely transfer onto the board. The project will still come out perfect.

Step 2:

Use the white and black paint to paint the eyes and the red to paint the nose.

Step 3:

Lastly, draw the antlers using the brown marker.

As you can see this project is as simple as 1 23 and absolutely adorable!!!

How Much Are You Spending On Your Children This Christmas?

A couple months ago I was in my son’s room and I had a revelation, “this boy has way too many darn toys.” He has toys all over the floor, spilling out of the toy box, and even under the bed. These are toys that he doesn’t play with, batteries are dead in them, or he simply doesn’t even know they exist. As I look around his room, I’ve realized how much money I’ve wasted. So with Christmas vastly approaching, I decided to not purchase as much as I did the year prior. Last year my husband and I spent around $500 on my son, this year we cut that in half to $250.

I think as parents we all want our children to have more and better than we had but when do we say enough is enough?  Deciding to not spend as much this Christmas holiday has nothing to do with not having the money to do so, it has more to do with me wanting to practice more responsible spending habits. I don’t think it matters if your gross income is $20,000 or $75,000 a year, I feel that there should still be a reasonable limit to how much you are willing to spend on your children for Christmas.
